Is MacGyver new tonight on CBS? Bracing for what lies ahead

Alas, the wait for said additional episodes is going to be continuing for a little while still. There is no new episode airing tonight, but the show will be back in one week’s time with a critical episode — after all, this is going to be the one that features the apparent departure of one George Eads from the series. While the specific departure within this episode has not been confirmed as of yet, that is what the rumors out there are stating and it’s hard to not believe those.
The larger question at the moment is just how Eads’ character of Jack Dalton departs, especially since there is nothing in the synopsis for the next new episode that suggests that the character’s time on the show will be coming to a close. We do recognize the possibility that maybe this is the sort of thing that just comes out of left field and it’s something that nobody can see coming … but even if that happens, it’s still unfortunate in its own way.
Of course, the main subject going into this episode is going to be whether or not Jack says goodbye, but we don’t want that to necessarily take away from some of the other stuff that is happening within this episode. There will still be a lot of signature MacGyver fun, and we do think the show is already evolving and showing us a little bit already that it can exist without Jack. We just have to prepare now to see it on an even larger level than we have before. We think that in some ways, this could end up being a hard pill for many to swallow; yet, we trust in these producers and in this creative team to come up with some future stories that represent fully everything that we know and love about this show as a whole.
We’ll see if some other promotional material hints at something more happening with Jack.
