MacGyver season 3 episode 14 return date: The story of a wedding

The first thing we’ll get to here is sharing the return date: Friday, February 1. The CBS show will be kicking off the February sweeps period with what is one of its biggest episodes, one that involves a number of team members crashing a wedding. On paper, this feels like it could be fun — but there’s some potentially-darker stuff lurking underneath the surface here.

“Father + Bride + Betrayal” – An international crime boss offers Matty a deal she can’t refuse – he’ll surrender himself into her custody if he’s allowed to return to the United States to watch his daughter walk down the aisle. MacGyver and team crash the wedding to ensure the crime lord doesn’t run, only to discover they’re not the only ones lying in wait at the event, on MACGYVER, Friday, Feb. 1 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
The darker stuff that we’re talking about here are the rumors that this could end up being the final episode for George Eads as Jack — if that’s the case, it does open up all sorts of questions as to how he could leave. No matter how he ends up leaving, the important thing to remember is that the show must go on. The timing here may actually work out well in that MacGyver will have some time to explore a new dimension for itself as a series before eventually finding a way to add to the cast down the road — provided of course, that this is something that they want to do. We are hoping that Jack’s exit will be something that leaves everyone satisfied (at least as satisfied as people can be losing this character) and that the show will take some time before bringing in anyone else new.
Given that this episode is kicking off February sweeps, we do think that there will be some opportunities to explore life without Eads in the weeks that follow — if this is the end, at least this episode seems like it will mark a pretty-entertaining send-off.
