In a recent post on Instagram, series star Daniela Ruah (Kensi) made it clear that the title for the upcoming 17th episode of the season (at least in production) is “Till Death Do Us Part.” Isn’t that a pretty clear indicator that a wedding may be coming up soon? There’s no confirmation based on title alone, but there is one other thing that is notable here: The fact that this episode is being written by executive producer R. Scott Gemmill. Typically executive producers / showrunners handle some of the larger episodes out there, and if this is the Deeks and Kensi wedding then that certainly qualifies as that.

Ultimately, the wedding (no matter when it airs) is a huge culmination of many years’ worth of storytelling. That is one of the wonderful things about a longrunning show like this. We have an opportunity to really see things build and develop over a lengthy period of time and I have to say I really love a slow burn when it comes to television relationships.

Of course, you shouldn’t think that Deeks and Kensi getting married is the end of the road for their story at all, since there’s still more of this season and probably more seasons to come in the future. As of right now, there’s no reason to be pessimistic as to the future of the show. Seeing how Deeks and Kensi work together as a married couple should make for some great television, as will seeing everything else that the writers come up with for Sam, Callen, and everyone else who is a part of the team. We have seen some shows stall out in the past after a couple gets married, but we’ve also seen some shows like Bones handle marriage really well and keep the relationship storyline from getting dry. Deeks and Kensi have always been really fun to watch together, even when they weren’t a couple, so I’m not worried about them becoming a bore after they are husband and wife.

NCIS: Los Angeles is airing a new episode on CBS this Sunday; following that, it will be on a short hiatus due to the Super Bowl and following that, some awards shows.
