Magnum PI episode 14 preview: ‘I, the Deceased’ + a big Kumu story
At the moment, maybe a lot of us are very-much spoiled by the amount of content that we’ve had. There was a new episode last week, the big post-NFL special on Sunday, and then also another new episode airing tonight. The reason we’re getting so many in January is in part intentional on CBS’ part to ensure that they get the most bang for their buck. The objective in airing a new Magnum PI after the AFC Championship Game was so that they could get some more people on board the series, and it is admittedly a little bit harder to do that when they’re airing repeats. They can always put the show into reruns and/or air the finale a little bit earlier than some other shows later. This is the show’s chance to strike while the iron is hot and potentially get some rather-good ratings throughout the end of the month.
We do at least think that the story coming up is an interesting one that could draw some numbers. The title here alone is interesting in “I, the Deceased,” and that’s before you even find out some of what’s happening within the actual episode. “I, The Deceased” – Magnum investigates the murder of a man who, pre-death, hires Thomas to find his killer. Also, Kumu reconnects with an old friend, on MAGNUM P.I., Monday, Jan. 28 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
This is an interesting concept for the show to follow — Magnum working a case from a man who likely knew that he would be killed. It makes you wonder, mostly on the basis of this alone, just how much Magnum worked to find the potential killer beforehand, if he knew that it was going to be the end of the road for him. No matter what direction the story actually takes, at least it is easy to sit here and say that this is an interesting concept and one that could set the stage for some really interesting stuff to come up in the future.
