Big Brother Canada 7 premiere date, schedule revealed by Global
Today, Global announced that their version of the reality-TV staple will be premiering on Wednesday, March 6 at 7:00 p.m. Eastern time. They also revealed their schedule for the bulk of the season — Wednesdays at 7, Thursdays at 8, and then Sundays at 8. The format of the show will likely be the same as it’s been in past years, as houseguests from all over Canada will compete for a grand prize while dealing with the pressures that come with being locked in the house.
For those wondering, it’s far too early to speculate on the theme, the houseguests, or anything else, but we will have a little more news on that down the line.
In a statement, Maria Hale, Senior Vice President, Global Entertainment & Content Acquisition, Corus Entertainment, had the following to say:
“We are so proud to be ushering in an all-new season of Big Brother Canada on Global … With a new house and a whole new crop of houseguests, we can’t wait to bring viewers another hit season of the show they can’t get enough of. Growing its audience year over year, we take great pride in creating an unforgettable season filled with epic TV moments and even more snackable digital content for our hungry viewers.”
Last season, Big Brother Canada did post some rather impressive ratings, proving that the campaign to keep the show alive after a cancellation scare was more than a little bit worthwhile. We think that this show does some things better than the US edition, whether it be its casting or its overall house design. It’s a beautiful house to look at (we’ve been inside it a few times to see it in person as well) and the show finds a way to keep things exciting during the year. While there are some changes we’d make to the live-feed presentation if we were behind the scenes, they’ve clearly found a model that works for them and don’t want to drift all that much from it.
