Unfortunately, there is no new installment tonight; instead we are forced to wait for a little while longer to see what’s happening next at the BAU. The good news is that you won’t be waiting too long to see the next new episode. There are three more episodes airing starting next week, and they will culminate in the season 14 finale in early February.
So, while you wait, let’s set the table with some of what we know about these episodes to help get you through this brief wait.
Season 14 episode 13, “Chameleon” (airing on January 23) – This is the episode directed by AJ Cook, and it’s going to serve as an opportunity to see a major David Rossi story involving a significant threat. We’ve heard show boss Erica Messer say that there’s a Big Bad coming up in season 15 that stems from some events with Rossi late in this season, and the character we meet in this episode could end up having a role to play then.
Season 14 episode 14, “Sick and Evil” (airing on January 30) – This feels a little bit more like a vintage episode of the series, one that features some sort of classic BAU case where there are a string of murders in the northeast. Based on the information that is out there, it doesn’t seem as though there is anything in this episode with a lasting impact — though Criminal Minds has surprised us.
Season 14 episode 15, “Truth or Dare” (airing on February 6) – This is the season 14 finale, and hopefully we’re going to see Rossi’s wedding at some point in here. CBS has yet to share any official details about this episode just yet, but remember that they only recently learned that they are getting a ten-episode final season. Because of that, it’s possible this was written as some sort of possible series finale. We hope that there is a sense of closure we get within this story because of that.
All in all, we’re closing season 14 with three big episodes that should bring you a whole lot of what you love about Criminal Minds.
