Criminal Minds season 14 episode 14 spoilers: The last before season finale

Criminal Minds

It’s nice that we know that there is already a renewal out there for Criminal Minds season 15; otherwise, we’d be a little more sad about Criminal Minds season 14 episode 14 since it would mean we only have two installments left, but as it stands right now we will have 10 more episodes for the Criminal Minds final season.

So what are we going to see on the CBS series moving forward in this episode? “Sick and Evil” airs on January 30, and on the surface it feels very much like a vintage Criminal Minds episode. It’s creepy, it’s based seemingly on the case of the week, and we’re going to have a chance to see during it the BAU tested once more. CarterMatt has the official synopsis for you below with a little more insight:

“Sick and Evil” – The BAU leads the investigation into a string of murders taking place in supposedly haunted houses in Lewiston, Maine, on CRIMINAL MINDS, Wednesday, Jan. 30 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

One of the things that we admittedly love to do with this show is look up some of the places where some of these cases occur, mostly because so many of them are often towns that not many people know about. Lewiston is actually one of the largest cities in Maine, but still sleepy enough to be one of those prototypical, “we never thought something like this could happen here” sort of places. Although if you are a fan of Stephen King you may think that every creepy, awful thing that could ever happen only happens in Maine.

We feel like the reason Criminal Minds sets so many episodes in smaller communities is because it’s easier to replicate while filming in Los Angeles if nobody knows what the real place actually looks like. Also, it raises the stakes for the BAU if local law enforcement is a little bit smaller, as opposed to the town having a force that is the equivalent of the NYPD or LAPD.

Hopefully, there is something more for a few of the agents to do beyond the case, especially since it feels like we’re building towards Rossi and Krystall’s wedding. It’d be nice to get some sort of substantial Reid spotlight before the end of the season as well (he’s been missing a lot more then we’d like), or maybe something more for a character like Tara or Simmons, who haven’t had more than just one big episode this season.
