Lucifer season 4 tease, and the latest premiere-date hopes

Lucifer

At this point, it’s been rather difficult to get substantial teases on Lucifer season 4 — yet, we do have a feeling that this could change in the near future. The Lux convention is happening this weekend and hopefully, that will lead to some fun chatter about the future of the show as well as what’s coming up this season.

While you wait for that, how about something more to help tide you over? In a new post on Twitter (which you can check out below), series star Aimee Garcia offered up a tiny new behind-the-scenes tease as to what’s coming up this season — it may not give all that much away, but we do still like to think of it as a nice reminder that footage is being put together and in a matter of months, the show will arrive on Netflix for everyone to enjoy. Garcia also guesses in a separate post that the fourth season could premiere in either April or May, which would go along with much of what we’ve been saying here at CarterMatt for a while now. Given when filming wrapped late last year and the amount of post-production time needed to get all of the episodes together, this is the time-frame that makes the most sense.

As for what is coming up in season 4, what we’re anticipating the most comes from Lucifer and Chloe in the aftermath of the devil face reveal. How is Chloe going to handle this information, which is effectively flipping her whole world upside-down? She had one perception of what she thought this was and now, it’s shifting into something totally different. We know that she’s cared for Lucifer, but he’s had this secret since the start of the series — while he’s certainly said the words “I am the devil” to her in the past, he couldn’t have expected her to actually believe it. It’s kind of hard to when you are in her shoes!

Hopefully, some sort of official premiere-date announcement for Lucifer season 4 will arrive on Netflix before too long — we’ve suggested Valentine’s Day in the past as a good announcement window, mostly because of the fun marketing opportunities that could go along with the date. If the season launches in either April or May, we’re probably still a ways out from a trailer.
