It’s fair to say that the past week has a been a big one for Susan Boyle thanks to America’s Got Talent: The Champions. When she was first on Britain’s Got Talent, it was an era of the show where Golden Buzzers weren’t around. Now, she’s got one courtesy of Mel B. We know that she will be appearing in the finale, though there is no telling just yet if she’s going to take home the title from there.

So what does Boyle have to say about her goals for this year, and for her performance on The Champions at present? Speaking in a new interview with People, here is some of what she had to say:
“I want this comeback year to be the best and show everyone I’m still going. It’s so wonderful coming back to America to do AGT: The Champions and the people are so warm and friendly.”
Boyle also noted that she is working to release a “fabulous new album for people to enjoy” this year, which makes sense given that it was ten years ago when she first performed “I Dreamed a Dream” on BGT and changed the course of reality competition shows forever.
Should Susan be the favorite to win?
Absolutely she should, given the fact that she is easily the most-famous person competing for the prize on this season? With that being said, we certainly have seen enough of this franchise over the years to know that Susan’s not guaranteed to win the season. She didn’t win her first go-around, and there is such a thing as being so much of a favorite that the final results can surprise you.
With that being said, our sentiment is to temper expectations a little bit. While we do think that Susan has the talent to win, you don’t want to bank on anything — especially when there are forty more performers who we haven’t had a chance to even see on the season yet. Some people could turn up and raise their game — there are also a few performers who we don’t know all that well because of their participation in some international versions of the show. (We don’t know some of the versions of the show outside the British and American one all that well.)
