The Resident season 2 episode 10 is returning to Fox come Monday night and over the course of it, you’re going to see a rather-perilous situation with Conrad and Nic at the center.

If you’ve caught most of season 2 so far, you’ve got a pretty good sense of what is happening already. At the end of the fall finale, there were two separate life-or-death situations. The first one involved Conrad’s father Marshall, who found himself in the midst of a medical crisis at Chastain. Meanwhile, the other involved Julian, who could be drowning after her car was run off the road by some of Quovadis’ hired guns desperate to keep their horrible business practices a secret.

The focus of the sneak peek below (via TVLine) is on the former, as you can see via the sneak peek below Conrad and Nic running into the hospital in the hopes of learning how Marshall is doing. Dr. Bell is doing everything that he can in order to save his life, and the emotional complications of this situation are on another level. Marshall and Bell have had a tough relationship ever since Marshall took over his job, and now Bell is responsible for having to save his life. Meanwhile, the relationship between Bell and Conrad is already well-documented and if Bell ends up not being able to save Marshall, that could cause the emotional powder-keg at the hospital to explode.

We do remain reasonably hopeful about Marshall’s prognosis, largely due to the fact that he is a patient at a quality hospital surrounded by people who are going to be intent on his recovery. It’s hard to display that same level of confidence in the future of Julian given that she is far from the hospital, and we’re not entirely sure that anyone will be able to make it to her in time to save her. If she dies, it does also (regrettably) allow Quovadis to go about their business perhaps a little bit longer, given that not everyone had an opportunity to know what they were up to.

No matter what happens as a result of these life-or-death situations in The Resident and its premiere, one thing feels clear: We are going to have an epic premiere more or less like no other.
