Blue Bloods season 9 episode 12 video: Does Jamie want a courthouse wedding?
A little bit earlier on this season, it seemed as though we were inching closer to a story with Jamie and Eddie where the two were going to have a more traditional church wedding. Yet, the sneak peek HERE throws a little bit of cold water on that idea. Basically, what we’re getting a better sense of in this preview is that Jamie has financial concerns. He recognizes that weddings cost tens of thousands of dollars and he’s not altogether sure he wants that. Instead, he thinks that there is a little bit of practicality that could come from the two of them doing something a little more frugal, such as taking that wedding money and buying a house.
Eddie, as you would imagine, wasn’t keen with having this idea sprung on her. Maybe she’d be more receptive to the idea of a courthouse wedding (code word: Maybe) in the event that he talked with her long before they were already thinking about wedding venues and the like. If she’s thinking that they are doing a traditional wedding, why would you start to suggest otherwise now? This is probably a problem Jamie should’ve saw coming.
Is it possible that the two can find a compromise that is somewhere in between here? Absolutely, mostly because there are plenty of weddings that be lovely and romantic without also costing mountains of money. They could find a way to do something a little more inexpensive while also making sure that they can move forward and have some money for their future. They just have to find a way to have that conversation without there being conflict and the two of them being on the same page.
Also, we’re still hoping for a Jamie – Eddie wedding this season. It’s possible the show may wait on it a little while longer, but we can’t help being impatient when it comes to these two! After all, it was such a wait for the two characters to get together in the first place.
