Chicago PD season 6 episode 12 puts Halstead front and center

One of the things that continues to be interesting about Jay as a character is that he’s got such a deep history — despite being a fairly-young character, he is still a guy who has been through so much. That history of trauma and pain is not going to be going anywhere in the near future. It can’t. It’s a part of who he is.
To be specific for this upcoming episode in particular, we’re probably going to see Halstead struggle with a specific part of his past — a man who was recently released from prison. This is someone who could have a huge impact on his future, and at least the case that Jay is working on right now.

01/23/2019 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Wednesday) : While chasing a heroin supplier, CPD crosses paths with a convicted criminal recently released on a technicality. Halstead’s (Jesse Lee Soffer) history with the man threatens the team’s ability to put him back in prison. TV-14 DLV
If you like great Jesse Lee Soffer performances, you’ll probably like this one. We know that for us, we feel like this is the sort of case that will require a lot of support from the entire team and that is, by and large, some of what we like to see on this show. We relish in the opportunities to see many of these characters tested and this episode almost certainly will bring that.
As for relationships, we do think that there are going to be some tests in there, as well. We do think that there is some story still to tell when it comes to Halstead, Ruzek, and Upton, mostly because it’s been hinted at already. We just don’t know when the writers are actually going to get there and push this dynamic completely to its limit. We’ll just have to wait and see there since we’ve still got a ways to go this season…
