Shadowhunters season 3: New art coming tomorrow; what about a trailer?

Shadowhunters season 3 cast

If you’re like us, it feels like now is the time for some proper, extensive Shadowhunters season 3 promotion. The remaining twelve episodes are going to be here starting in a little more than a month and we want to see those spotlighted as much as possible. How could we not? Exposure equals more ratings, and no matter what the future holds we’d at least like to see the third season end on a high note.

At the moment, we’re on the hunt for an elusive trailer, one that is real and substantial as opposed to just a quick teaser or two. (In our mind, a trailer is a collection of footage longer than a minute — the term’s been a little loosely applied to things over the years.) There’s no 100% confirmation that this is coming in the near future, but we do know that some promotional art is on the way. In a new post on Twitter, the show’s account confirmed that the art will be released at some point tomorrow. Is that nice to know? Absolutely, since it’s not necessarily something that Freeform has to do. They don’t technically have to do anything. Yet, we do think it’s in their best interest to put some good promo out there. Even if they don’t want to move forward with the show following season 3, don’t you still want to get your money’s worth now?

Anyhow, we know that there are a number of awesome things worth looking forward to in season 3, whether it be an interesting shift in Magnus and Alec’s relationship, the aftermath of the big Clary cliffhanger, some quality content for Simon and Izzy, and of course Luke Baines appearing as the real Jonathan. There’s a lot of drama coming, plus some exciting drama and romance culminating in a two-part finale that should offer up some nice closure for a number of different stories … while also leaving the door slightly ajar for the future.

The next few months should prove to be exciting ones for everyone within the Shadowhunters fandom … we just hope that Freeform delivers on some of the expectations out there leading up to the show’s return. If you read CarterMatt with regularity, then you know we’re going to do our best to promote it every step of the way.
