Of course, much of what is happening right now is Jamie’s responsibility and we wonder what sort of conversation he and Brianna are having in the photo above. Jamie did what he did to Roger thinking that he assaulted her, and that was due to information that he got from Lizzie. We don’t get the sense that Jamie is going to be altogether willing to discuss his actions publicly, which means that Lizzie is going to have to be the one to tell Bree a little bit of what she saw and who she told. Maybe this photo is Brianna confronting Jamie about it, and then maybe asking him to describe who it is he saw. Jamie knows who Stephen Bonnet is, and the moment that he first hears that name he’s going to recognize that he may have made a terrible mistake and gone after Roger instead.
Based on Sam Heughan’s facial expression here, it’s clear that Jamie is listening rather intently to whatever it is that Brianna is saying…
For this photo, meanwhile, you have to wonder what’s going on with Brianna and Claire! It’s a different time of day clearly, so maybe this is a conversation after a long day of searching for Roger. Is it possible that Brianna talks to Claire before confronting Jamie about what he did? Possibly, but after the connection that they formed on the bee hunt, if we were Bree we’d ask Jamie about what he did the moment that Lizzie passed along the information (provided that she actually does) about the arrival to Fraser’s Ridge.
Through this exchange, though, maybe the Frasers all are going to learn something about secrets: Often, it really is better to just get everything out in the open. You don’t want to continue to put yourself in these sort of situations!
Finally, let’s conclude things here with an image featuring John Bell and his character of Young Ian front and center. This image does not give away a whole lot beyond that Young Ian is clearly surprised about something (see his facial expression and his stance). We know that the series has more or less slow-played some of his arc this season, but as things go along his story is going to get infinitely more important. Consider it something to watch out for in the weeks to come.
