Over the past week or two, it’s felt like the series was flirting with the idea of bringing Aunt Jocasta back into the fold. After all, it seemed as though Brianna was heading towards a meeting with her before she met Jamie and Claire in Wilmington. Now, we do know that the character is returning, but the circumstances surrounding why are a little more unclear. Could Brianna meet her now? It’s certainly possible, but we have a hard time imagining that this will be a particularly-rose meeting for her if it happens. Brianna’s perspective towards Jocasta would likely be the same as Claire’s. No matter what sort of merits Jocasta has as a person, it is hard to overlook her status as a slave owner.

We do think that Jamie and Claire do recognize on some level that River Run is an asset, if they need Jocasta’s help on some level; yet, we think that they would hesitate to ask for it unless the situation was desperate. Depending on what is happening with Roger and what sort of help she could offer the situation, it very well could be.

This brings us of course to Young Ian, who does remain very integral to Roger’s story and whatever happens to him. Yet, the photo above seems to suggest that Ian is already on the other side of whatever decision he made and is now working alongside Brianna and Lizzie, who certainly seems rather smitten with him just on facial reaction alone. It’s far too early to tell if anything happens there; for now, the priority may just be working with the local Native American tribe. It doesn’t seem like anything is extremely contentious based on this photo, but when you think about possible language barriers and the tribe’s history with more destructive, greedy settlers, things can easily turn on a dime.

This third image does certainly matter from a wardrobe perspective, even if it does not actually give you all that much of an insight into the story. How incredible is the costuming work here? (For those wondering, the actor is Braeden Clarke and the character is Kaheroton. We’ll see what his impact is on the episode this weekend.)
