Right at midnight, Stranger Things 3 officially decided to get some of the first headlines of the new year. After all, they have revealed the season 3 premiere date!
So when can you expect the series back on Netflix? Think in terms of Independence Day — it will be back on July 4, 2019. This is not a date that most shows could get away with, given that this is a day where a lot of people tend to go outside and enjoy some of those festivities. Yet, when it comes to Stranger Things this is actually a date that makes a good bit of sense. It’s one that it can turn into an event, and there’s not going to be a heck of a lot of competition that is out there on that day, either.
The new video below isn’t exactly all that informative — it’s mostly just themed around the New Year with the reveal of the date at the end. This mostly signals the fact that Netflix is thinking really far ahead with this show, with they have the luxury of doing given the fact that they have SO many shows and they can plan ahead to such an extent.
The only downside with Stranger Things 3 is simply the fact that by the time that this season premieres, it will have been a grand total of more than a year and a half since the end of season 2. That season premiered more than a year ago at this point, and who knows when a potential season 4 to premiere? At the moment, though, there is no word as to when the show will end or even if we’re going to get a season 4.
One more tease that we can offer here is that season 3 is set in the summer of 1985 with the arrival of something strange, and that’s more or less all Netflix shared tonight. They’ve certainly got plenty of time, and we wouldn’t be all that shocked if there is some sort of teaser / trailer shown off during the Super Bowl. Filming for the season is already done and they know that they will get a TON of exposure at that time if they want it.
