Yesterday, we posted some photos featuring Brianna, presumably as she was getting ready to meet Jamie for the first time! This second batch of photos doesn’t tee up the meeting in the same way, and instead shows Jamie and Claire presumably back on Fraser’s Ridge. That’s at least our take on the geography and Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are now out in the wilderness, doing a little bit more of what they can to tend to the land and prepare for the future.
Will Bree join the two of them there? In due time, we have to imagine so, and she could be useful both in terms of establishing an even greater emotional bond in addition to just having another person to help care for the land. Yet, just because there is a reunion there is no guarantee of happiness. Throughout this episode, Jamie and Claire will have to adjust to the new circumstances that are before them, and also potentially react to whatever news Brianna brings them. There is no guarantee that she will tell them about the assault by Stephen Bonnet right away.
This photo serves as a reminder that one of the most-interesting things about Outlander is how they manage to pass the time between episodes. We only saw the beginnings of the Fraser’s Ridge cabin’s construction; now, we’ve got a rather impressive garden with a fence going on!
For those looking for a photo that pertains perhaps more to the story’s plot, this one of Jamie and Murtagh may be it. Murtagh knows now, perhaps even more than before, just how loyal Jamie is to the Regulator cause — even if he doesn’t work and fight alongside them. He warned Murtagh about the attack from the Governor and managed to prepared him, at least in part, for what could be coming. Jamie’s going to continue to have to toe the line here, being an asset without also outing himself as someone working against the crown.
Luckily, we know that Murtagh excels at keeping secrets and the last thing that he’s going to want is to hurt Jamie or his new-found home in some sort of way. Also, if the Revolution strikes, couldn’t Jamie eventually turn Fraser’s Ridge into a bastion against the British? If he’s got enough manpower, it may be harder for the opposition to stop him…
