The Bachelor premiere spoilers: The Love, Actually connection

Bachelor

Given that today is Christmas Day, it does feel appropriate to talk about The Bachelor alongside Love, Actually — one of the more iconic recent Christmas-themed movies that is out there.

Apparently, one contestant on Colton Underwood’s season is going to do what she can to win him over using some of the classic giant poster-cards from the movie, with some of her own messages put on them. You can see a brief tease at the bottom of this article, and we gotta say that insofar as weird limousine exits go, this one’s actually rather fun. It captures more or less the spirit of the movie, while at the same time doing something that is rather fun and playful. It’s not trying too hard for excess attention or doing something that will embarrass her forever.

Of course, we still do think that the best introduction that you can make is just walking up to the Bachelor, saying your name, and telling him you’re looking forward to meeting him inside. Yet, we also recognize that this is not what the show’s producers want here in the slightest. They are living for the opportunity to have something crazy and dramatic happen. That’s one of the biggest reasons for the first night’s existence in its current form!

Recently, we reported that the show’s producers do have an interesting collaborative process with the contestants over how the limo exits are handled. While the producers don’t force any of the contestants to do something that they are not comfortable with, it is a collaboration process in order to determine what each contestant is going to do and precisely what they are comfortable with. They want them to be creative, and they also want to ensure that each person does something that is unique.

As for some of the other stuff that we’re probably going to see on this upcoming season, be prepared for a lot of jokes about Colton Underwood’s virginity — beyond that, we’re already banking on someone else talking about his football career. It’s already been confirmed that one contestant is showing up in a sloth costume — it’s the sort of thing that could be a kiss of death when it comes to her winning the show, but it is almost akin to punching a one-way ticket to Bachelor in Paradise.
