Chicago PD, Fire, and Med cast spread holiday cheer in new video

Chicago PD season 6

In the midst of many wonderful holiday-themed videos from the TV world, this One Chicago one may be the best.

In the video at the bottom of this article, you can see the casts of Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and Chicago Med all gather ’round to read to you a love holiday tale — The Night Before Christmas … the Chicago version of it. This is a really fun story with a number of assorted highlights. You’ve got Jon Seda pretending to be Santa, LaRoyce Hawkins pretending to be Voight, and in general a lot of holiday enthusiasm. We give the team credit for being really game to go along with this, and it’s yet another reminder of the fun stuff that this particular franchise is willing to do in promotion of their shows. Remember the One Chicago puppies video from earlier this year? This is in the same vein as that.

Perhaps the best thing about this is that it helps to serve as a nice distraction from all of the terrible stuff that is happening to some of these characters within the world of One Chicago itself. Take, for example, Antonio killing a man at the end of the Chicago PD fall finale as he continues to struggle with addiction following the shoulder injury. Meanwhile, the status of Will and Natalie is up in the air on Chicago Med and over on Fire, Matt Casey and Naomi are trapped within a burning building. Over the course of the winter premieres next month, you will get closure to all of these different stories.

But, for now, why not stop and celebrate Christmas with your favorite familiar faces from the One Chicago world? There is a lot to smile about here, and we certainly have a lot to be grateful about given that all three shows are still on the air. Not only that, but it appears fairly-likely that you will see renewals for all of them in the new year provided that nothing truly crazy happens. One of the best things that NBC did earlier this year was take the risk of putting all of these different shows on the same night together. Clearly, it has worked out for them in spades.
