Chicago Fire season 7 exec on Severide, Stella, and dalmatians!

Chicago Fire season 7

Chicago Fire season 7 is currently in the midst of a hiatus, but in early January it will be back with new episodes! It’s absolutely clear at the moment that there’s a lot of story for the entire Firehouse 51 crew to take on. Take, for starters, that enormous cliffhanger with Matt Casey and Naomi! You have to hope that the two of them will be able to emerge from this particular situation in one piece.

Beyond what is going on with Casey at the moment, there’s another emotional cliffhanger at the moment when it comes to Stella and Severide. Kelly has been reeling as of late following the loss of his father and he’s been looking to Stella as a source of some sort of emotional support. She has been there for him, and she’s going to probably continue to be there for him in some way … but whether or not it stays romantic is up to him. If he keeps pushing her away, the two are going to have a hard time figuring out how to move forward. They are going to encounter some more roadblocks and she may eventually decide to move on.

Of course, it’s not going to be to get anyone to say for certain whether or not good things are coming Stellaride’s way. Yet, in a post on Twitter today, executive producer Derek Haas offered up at least a little bit of hope:

Well, in the near term, it doesn’t look good for them. But I am an optimistic guy, and I think love will win out in the end… I mean, I hope so.

Meanwhile, Haas also opened up about one of the other new additions to this season — a Dalmatian, who has added a little bit more firefighter spirit to 51 over the past several weeks:

The president of Wolf Films, Peter Jankowski, really wanted a Dalmatian for the new season. (He still has a picture of Pouch in his office.) He was the one behind the puppy promo this year too. We got in the writer’s room and thought of the best way to do it!

While we know that there are many polarizing stories and things that can come about within the One Chicago world, we feel like a Dalmatian at the firehouse is one of the few things that everyone can agree on as great.
