Grantchester season 11 episode 8 spoilers: The series finale…

As we brace ourselves to see Grantchester season 11 episode 8 on PBS next week, there is definitely a lot to anticipate. This is the series finale, one that comes with a lot of pressure. There are so many years’ worth of important and powerful stories to tie together, and we certainly imagine that this one is going to be emotional.

Do we think that there is going to be a happy ending to all of this? In a way, it would be strange not to get that! This is a show that has put Geordie and so many other characters in hard positions over the years. Yet, at the same time there has also been an undercurrent of hope. To see the series abandon this at this particular point would be strange. Who in the world would want that? We want there to be some happiness for characters or, at the very least, peace. Everyone should get a chance to breathe a little easier.

Could the series ever be revived someday?

For the time being that remains to be seen; however, we tend to think that any show that has been around for a decade could always be revisited. It just feels like there is always a chance to see something more and in the end, it could just come down to where the cast, creative team, and studio heads want years down the road.
