Grey’s Anatomy season 15 spoilers: Jennifer Grey to play mystery role

According to a report from TVLine, the Dirty Dancing star is officially going to appear in multiple episodes of the ABC drama, which almost immediately raises some interesting questions as to who she could play. Typically patients on this show only last an episode or two at most, but there are some exceptions that do have a tendency to pop up here and there. A more likely scenario, and one noted by the aforementioned site, is that she could be playing Jo’s biological mother. This is a story that has been floating around in the ether for a while now and given that at least one episode coming up will not feature a medical storyline at all, this could be almost entirely about Jo and her biological father. It’s at least an idea to consider.
The most important thing from a casting point of view here is that this proves further that Grey’s Anatomy is steal an ideal place for a number of actors to appear — it offers up great material and a chance to work alongside a number of accomplished actors. Beyond all of that, it’s a chance to perform in front of a large audience both live and after the fact. If there was ever a show that served as a great springboard to some other programs down the line, this is almost certainly it given that it brings so much more attention to everything that you’re doing and everything that you are capable of in the future. (Of course, there’s always a chance that Jennifer Grey’s own arc here sticks around longer than expected, but that’s really not the sort of thing that you can actually predict in advance.)
Grey’s Anatomy season 15 will return with new episodes once we get around to January 17. Of course, we’ll have some other news leading up to, but there is no specific air date just yet for Grey’s arrival. Based on the timing of her casting news, odds are that we will see her at some point in the early spring, at the latest.
