Is Chicago Fire new tonight on NBC? The aftermath of the cliffhanger

The unfortunate news here, alas, is that we’re not going to have a chance to see the series back on the air, either now or at some other point moving forward in 2019. Last week was the fall finale for a reason, and the writers are doing their best now to prepare for the future and also some potentially-crazy stuff that will be coming a little bit later on down the road. That, of course, is hopefully going to include some sort of resolution to the other side of the crazy cliffhanger involving Casey and Naomi.
If you recall, this past episode came to a close watching the Casey character wake up and realize that there was fire coming right outside of his bedroom. His life is on the line and, to go along with that, it doesn’t feel altogether clear that there’s an easy way for him to get out of this situation. The first order of business here is going to be seeing if there’s a way to save himself and Naomi, and the second part of that is clearly going to be trying to find a way in order to deal with any other ramifications. Given that someone’s probably going to call the fire department on this, it’s likely that at least some people in Firehouse 51 are going to be very much aware of Casey’s relationship with Naomi. It’s not entirely clear if he wanted that many people to know the ins and outs of her private life.
As for what else could be coming…
For starters, can we hope for better things now for Cruz and Chloe? They just went through a pretty terrible scenario in the fall finale but it seems as though she’s on the mend and moving forward towards bigger and better things.
Meanwhile, we also are hoping that Severide can find a way to curtail his self-destructive ways before it comes back to actually destroy his relationship. We’ve seen him do this more times that we can possibly count and it’s never going to end well for him. He needs someone else, clearly, to talk to. Basically, he needs someone to instill fear in him that unless he fixes things with Stella, things are not going to go the way he wants.
