Family Guy season 17 episode 10 return date hopes: When could it be back?
The obvious bad news here is that you’re not going to have a chance to see more new episodes on Fox for at least a little while. There isn’t a new installment coming up for the rest of the year, largely because A) it’s the holiday season and B) there are fewer viewers available this time of year. There’s no reason to continue airing new episodes for at least a little while and we’re going to have to wait and see precisely what’s going to be coming up a little bit down the road.
So when could we see the show back on the air? Think in terms of early January; more than likely, that’s when Stewie, Peter, and everyone else will be back. Why then? The simplest answer is that Fox is going to want to get some of its new episodes out there for viewers before we get to the extremely-busy period of January … otherwise known as the part of the month that is going to feature everything from the NFL playoffs to eventually awards shows, the Super Bowl, and more in February. January’s a chance to take advantage of the colder weather and when there are fewer total viewers around.
As for what we would expect story-wise from Family Guy in the new year, there’s no reason to think that it will be anything different from the typical sort of stuff that we’ve had a chance to see for the vast majority of the season so far. There’s a really-clear pattern at the moment for what works with this show and while we wish there were more “events” sometimes on the schedule, we also recognize this: If you have too many events, are any of them suddenly events anymore? Do they hold anywhere near the same value?
As for the long-term future of Family Guy…
If you love this series, the one big of advice that we can offer you is that it’s not going to be going anywhere in the immediate future. This is one of the most-successful animated comedies out there — while it may not have the widespread mainstream success of The Simpsons, there is clearly still quite a bit that it’s doing correctly and there’s no sign of it slowing down. If there ever is, we like to think that Fox makes some sort of mainstream announcement and we get some more news long before anything happens.
