FBI episode 10 spoilers: Zoo alum Billy Burke to guest star

FBI

Want to know some of what’s coming on FBI episode 10? First and foremost, let’s make it clear that there is a change of schedule…

Originally, Tuesday’s new episode was set to feature a personal story for OA in particular that would allow us the chance to meet an important family member. Now, that episode has been pushed down the line, and an installment entitled “The Armorer’s Faith” is going to air in its timeslot instead. This one will feature an appearance by former Zoo star Billy Burke in a role that is actually very much tied to Maggie and OA both. Seeing him as Rowan Quinn will allow us an opportunity to better understand the agents that these two have become and, to go along with that, some of what they’ve been through. For a larger explanation, you just have to check out the official synopsis below:

“The Armorer’s Faith” – When an illegal arms broker turned informant is assassinated, OA assumes his identity and goes undercover to stop the sale of dangerous weapons, with help from Maggie and their former FBI instructor, Rowan Quinn (Billy Burke), on FBI, Tuesday, Dec. 11 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Will this episode prove to be worthwhile? Given that it’s the final one of the year we absolutely do have some high hopes for it. Getting a big-name guest star like Burke helps, especially since he should be familiar to many CBS viewers already. Beyond just that, this is the world of Dick Wolf. If you’ve followed many of his shows before including One Chicago and Law & Order, you know that there are always opportunities for characters to come back provided that they are able to survive.

This episode will hopefully be as a whole a great celebration of what FBI has been so far this year — a smart, super-intense drama that features some of the biggest and boldest cases in all of television. The idea here for CBS should just be to tell a story that stands out head and shoulders above many others and also one that sets the stage for some big ones coming in the second half. FBI has shown itself to have ratings momentum already — let’s hope that it continues so that it can score a season 2 renewal without too much effort. (If it does stay more or less where it is right now, it’s going to be fairly easy to assume that a renewal is coming.)

After this episode airs, more than likely FBI season 1 is going to return to the air with new episodes at some point in early 2019.
