What lies ahead on The Good Doctor when the season 2 fall finale airs on ABC come Monday night? Well, for Dr. Audrey Lim, she could be facing a crisis like virtually no other. She’s trying to lead the charge in the emergency room in the midst of a dire crisis — an airborne disease that spreads quickly and leads to the entire part of the hospital being under quarantine. Given that this happens during the holiday season, there’s a reasonable chance that a number of different characters are going to find themselves facing an atypical Christmas.

The unfortunate thing that lies ahead for Dr. Lim here is that there is no guarantee that she will be able to survive all of this — after all, the preview that is already out there for the fall finale suggests that she could end up being infected herself. Basically, this means that she has to find a way to stay alive in addition to helping others do the same.
Despite whatever is happening with her, it seems as though Dr. Lim is going to keep her focus on the patient first. Speaking in a new interview with TVLine, here is some of what the actress behind the role in Christina Chang had to say:
“Lim’s dedication to the emergency room is really felt in this episode. Even given what happens throughout, no matter what, she’s saving lives … She’s always calm, she’s always collected… so she’s in her element. She’s not really knocked off her balance at any point. There’s maybe a glimmer of that when she discovers something that’s happened,” but otherwise, “she has her wits throughout.”
Despite her determination, Chang says that viewers should be “very” worried about what could be coming up for her at the end of the episode. Can you really be that surprised about that? It’s hard to be when we are talking about a story arc that is so twisted and has such a wide array of different wrinkles to it. The Good Doctor has already shown itself over time to be the sort of series that has no problem taking on enormous twists or writing out important characters (see Jared as an example of that). They wouldn’t be afraid of doing something terrible to Dr. Lim here even if the writers do love writing for this character.
