Following tonight’s new episode on NBC, what’s the Law & Order: SVU season 20 episode 11 return date? We’ve got some details on that within this particular piece!
The bad news here is, of course, the fact that there is no new episode coming up next week or the one that follows — tonight’s episode featuring Wallace Shawn and Judd Hirsch is the fall finale, and we certainly hope that it does enough to satisfy some of you out there.
The good news, meanwhile, is that we don’t really expect NBC to make anyone wait a super-long wait in order to see some of what is coming up next. More than likely, we anticipate that the series is going to be coming up on the air in January with at least a couple of new episodes. SVU tends to not take super-long hiatuses early on in the year, mostly because they realize on some level that this is when there are a lot of viewers around. (There do tend to be a few longer hiatuses of at least a few weeks in the spring.)
As to what we do want to see on SVU moving forward, we think at the forefront of it should always be strong, powerful cases that reflect what is going on in the world. We’re looking for an opportunity to see some thought-provoking stories with great performances, but beyond just that messages that strike a chord and have people thinking and discussing things after the installments end.
Beyond just that, are we also going to get some more material for Carisi? It feels like it’s been a while since we got a good, long-term arc for him. We also do want to consider to see the personal arc for Olivia and Noah continue, given that he is always going to be a part of her life.
Update: There was no official return date announced following tonight’s episode, but NBC has confirmed that it will in fact be back in January. We’ll offer up some more insight once there is some to report, but we do hope that there are opportunities to get episodes like the one that we had tonight.
