Hawaii Five-0 season 9: What are the best crossover possibilities?

Hawaii Five-0

As we dive deeper into Hawaii Five-0 season 9, one thing that we should clearly recognize is this: The odds of there being a lot of crossovers feels pretty low. After all, we’ll be lucky if we even get one about Magnum PI!

Hawaii Five-0 video! – Check out some of our thoughts all about the series at the bottom of this article! Meanwhile, be sure to subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube and also take a look at our Hawaii Five-0 playlist for more.

Yet, that is not going to stop us from having a little bit of fun within this article, as we go through and talk about what some of the best possibilities for crossovers could be. Note that this is a part of our ongoing Crossover November article series here at CarterMatt, where we spotlight a number of different shows and highlight some of the most-interesting, creative ways to see them mix things up with other shows and casts.

With all of this spelled out, let’s dive in!

SWAT – Getting Alex O’Loughlin and Shemar Moore together on-screen at the same time should really be at the top of everyone’s priority list. With that in mind, we appreciate the idea of a story where Hondo goes on vacation in Hawaii and ends up using some of his skills to help out the team — or, Five-0 tracks a dangerous criminal to Los Angeles and works with the local SWAT in order to make sure that the problem is contained.

NCIS: New Orleans – Given that Hawaii Five-0 and NCIS: Los Angeles have already crossed paths, why not collaborate with the Big Easy? While it’d probably be a producers’ nightmare trying to arrange, we do think the idea of putting Sebastian Lund and Jerry in the same scene is too good to pass up. Also, Pride seems like the kind of guy who would appreciate Kamekona’s food … though he’d still insist that the cuisine was better in the crescent city.

Criminal Minds – While studio-wise it may not make a whole lot of sense and it would be complicated to stage, story-wise there is just something that makes sense here. The BAU could have an UnSub in Hawaii and this just makes so much sense than almost any other crossover out there since the BAU is basically a flying office. If the writers give us something like this, it’s fairly easy to feel satisfied with the end result — maybe Five-0 can help give the BAU a few laughs along the way.

Blue Bloods – We have this weird, wacky image in our head of the Reagans all coming out to Hawaii wearing their floral shirts and having family dinner at Kamekona’s. Also, we picture an instant bromance between Danny Reagan and Steve that ends up making Danny Williams jealous.
