The Resident season 2 episode 8 video: Are Priya, Devon in trouble?

In the sneak peek that we have for you below, you have a chance to learn that there is a major source of tension coming between the two — namely, Priya has a new career opportunity for herself out in San Francisco that is, by her own estimation, far too good of a gig for her to ever pass up. This is the sort of opportunity that could effectively change the entirety of her career. It makes sense for her to want to leave, just as it makes sense for her to want Devon to go along with her. She loves him! Obviously, she wants to find a way in which the two can stay together through their first year of marriage if at all possible.
Here is where things get a little bit tricky: Devon doesn’t seem interested in going, and while he claims that it’s because of his job (he may have to wait a full year before being able to land another residency), it’s really because of something, or someone, else. Devon has not been able to get Julian out of his mind since the two kissed and it’s not altogether easy to think of a way in which this situation is going to suddenly change for him. If she remains at the forefront of his thoughts, it’s easily going to present quite the dilemma for his impending wedding, let alone anything else. We think that some of the interest just comes from the fact that the two work around each other, and are at least reasonably similar when it comes to their career paths. Devon is also working on his own medical device at the moment, which is why Julian is effectively one of the perfect people to have conversations with on the subject.
At some point things are going to come to a head with all of this — think next week at the latest, given that this episode (entitled “The Dance”) is the fall finale. That is when Devon and Priya are meant to be married, but in the wake of his new feelings and whatever sort of aftermath is going to spill over from those, there are many reasons to start to have a few doubts. Also, don’t be shocked if there is going to be some big cliffhanger that leads into new episodes in 2019.
