Chicago Med season 4 episode 9 spoilers: The fall finale … and a wedding?

Chicago Med season 4 episode 9 is coming your way on December 5 and based on early details, this one is big. For starters, it’s the fall finale and a fantastic chance to check in on an important relationship — Will and Natalie. We cannot confirm 100% that there will be a wedding in this episode, but the title for the hour is certainly intriguing: “Death Do Us Part.” You can read that as romantic (it is, after all, a part of wedding vows), but it can be also thought of as kind-of worrisome. Could someone actually die at the end of this? That seems possible, but at least there aren’t any clues of it being a major character.

12/05/2018 (08:00PM – 09:00PM) (Wednesday) : Will and Natalie prepare for their big day, but an unsuspecting Will soon finds himself sidetracked. Dr. Charles disagrees with Goodwin on how to best handle a patient’s treatment while Dr. Choi and April are on their own when a pregnant woman delivers. Dr. Rhodes finds himself operating on a patient that is of great importance to Det. Halstead. TV-14 V

The presence of Jay Halstead in this synopsis does make us think that the storyline regarding Ray and the secret sting operation may be lasting until this point in the story. We know that’s going to be polarizing just because this storyline itself has been up to this point. The idea of Will going undercover and being this sort of medical double-agent is kind of cool, but the one part of it that’s a little bit more complicated (and the part that we really don’t like) is seeing Will go behind Natalie’s back for it. We certainly don’t think that’s necessary and beyond that, it’s extremely short-sighted for him to want to move forward into a marriage thinking that this lie can still be there. Maybe he thinks that he will tell her once they get to the other side of Ray’s arrest, but do you really think that she’s going to be altogether happy about it then? It’s really hard to imagine that she’s going to be given everything that we’ve come to know about her so far or really any other human being in general — nobody likes to be lied to especially when taking life long vows to that person.

After this episode, alas, you’ll be waiting until the new year to find out what’s next. Let’s just hope that the midseason finale sets the stage for it.
