Saturday Night Live expectations: Will Jonah Hill, Maggie Rogers deliver?

This weekend’s Saturday Night Live is being hosted by none other than Jonah Hill, and for fans of his previous outings that has to be a cause for excitement. Yet, if you thought his previous performances were a waste, you’ll probably feel the same here. Hill’s a polarizing host as a comedic talent — you either love him or you don’t. He’s had some recurring sketches over the years, with Adam Grossman being the most notable one.

Do we anticipate an Adam Grossman cameo? Potentially — as a matter of fact, we prefer it. With this being the last show before the midterms, it goes without saying that there is going to be a great deal of political comedy spotlighted tonight; yet, this show works best when there is a balance and there are some other things that are also spotlighted. We really do hope that there’s a chance to witness some of the show’s sillier side, especially in a guy like Jonah who tends to be down for anything.

As for Alec Baldwin appearing as Trump, we have a feeling that this is a little more of a chaotic situation than it usually is — just remember that Baldwin was arrested yesterday over a supposed parking-space incident and if he’s not there, we have a good feeling that SNL could mock him for it. As a matter of fact, we have a feeling that the show could choose to skewer him even in the event that he is. One way or another, there is very much a good chance that there is some entertaining stuff coming tonight — and if you like music, there’s a reasonably good chance that you will also enjoy the stylings of one Maggie Rogers. (The most notable part of the promo below setting up tonight’s episode is Pete Davidson jokingly proposing to Rogers — this is vintage Pete. For a guy who has told jokes involving his father (who died on September 11), making fun of his recent breakup from Ariana Grande is not anywhere near as severe.)
