Let’s start things off here with Carson, a man who McGarrett had a history with but who he did not see for many years. His death really sparked McGarrett’s interest in a complicated case, one that perhaps he was too involved in given that he was eventually arrested while looking through evidence. Carson died while making an emergency landing and the sole survivor was a baby. With that, making sure the baby was safe was a key order of business here.
Beyond just that, this episode also allowed us to spend some time with Emma Warren, the fed who arrested McGarrett early on in the hour. Were the two flirting basically throughout the hour? It feels like that’s a pretty clear possibility. After all, the two got a drink after the case, largely because McGarrett told her that she owed him after the arrest.
What’s happening with Adam?
He returned at the start of the episode and made it clear that he was having a really tough time. He and Kono were splitting up and he was on the verge of falling apart. Beyond that, there’s also the issue with the gun — he arrived to HQ at the end of the episode angry, especially when he realized that the cops were paying him a visit.
In Adam’s mind, he was sold out by someone who came to his place and planted the gun. Yet, who would’ve done that, and why? Do we believe him? In the wake of his return, these are the questions that we clearly should be wondering.
This episode of Hawaii Five-0 brought you intensity, an arrest, and above all else, a new mystery with Adam. We really hope that he’s innocent, but with this show, we don’t quite know all that well! It’s something that will probably be made clearer over time.
