Outlander season 4 video: A look inside Fraser’s Ridge + more!

If you look below, you can see a look behind the scenes at one of the most-iconic settings for what is coming up in Fraser’s Ridge. This is, after all, the place that Jamie and Claire will be calling their home over the weeks ahead. You may not see it right away on the new season, but eventually the Frasers are going to build this place up. Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan (via Entertainment Tonight) offer you below a great look at some of the finer details of the home — with some of their trademark humor, of course. They understand how much Fraser’s Ridge means to fans of the series, and beyond just that, how much it also means to Jamie and Claire themselves. This is the first chance that the two have had to actually build a homestead for themselves; the closest that they’ve had some far is Lallybroch, but it was at times hard to feel safe even there.
We have a feeling that Fraser’s Ridge over time will be a warm, comfortable place for this family — an escape from some of what lies within the outside world. There will still be trouble, but this is a place that is strictly theirs.
To go along with this video, the second one below (via Sony’s official Twitter account) offers up a perspective of things via executive producers Matthew B. Roberts and Toni Graphia. This is a really good bit of insight into what made this particular season a challenge. After all, they had to figure out a way in which to replicate North Carolina while filming in Scotland. They also talk about the emotional focus of this season, some returning characters, and a whole lot more. Given that Roberts and Graphia are in our mind two of the series’ unsung heroes (they’ve been working on season 5 behind the scenes and haven’t been as visible during much of the promotional tour), it’s nice to hear from them in any medium.
