Outlander notes: A Sam Heughan promo; new Richard Rankin quotes
Let’s start things off here with the latest character teaser from Starz, this time focusing on Sam Heughan’s Jamie Fraser. As we move into this new season, the man is in a rather fascinating spot. He’s further from home than he has ever been before; yet, he also has an opportunity to build a home that he hasn’t quite had. No longer does he constantly have to look over his shoulder like he once did. Instead, he has now a family and an opportunity to become a laird. For Jamie, some of this season will be about establishing that home and figuring out precisely how that home functions.

Will there be more problems for him along the way? We do think that it’s fair to say that, especially since there are so many new characters who could bring trouble his and his family’s way. Yet, there’s a different sort of trouble at the heart of this season and the problems that he faces will require a different skill set than any that we’ve seen from him before.
The latest via Richard Rankin
Richard is gearing up for his strongest season of Outlander to date as Roger, and there are going to be a wide array of issues that he is confronted with. There will be some moments of victory for him, but also one of the most painful experiences of his entire life.
For a little more insight in Richard’s head and his thoughts on the character at present, just take a look at what he had to say recently per the Scotsman:
“He follows his heart, he is very much driven by that, and there is this thing in [Roger] that he cannot stand the thought of someone being in danger or pain or discomfort. He will do everything in his power to right a wrong and he hits many hurdles … You are going to see a very different side to him and he emerges a completely different character by the end.”
