NCIS season 16 episode 6 review: Crabby Kasie, Jimmy’s ghost haunts NCIS

NCIS season 16 episode 1

Since it’s Halloween week (yup all week long!) we are getting a Halloween episode of NCIS tonight. Without Abby – who pretty much celebrates Halloween all year long – we weren’t sure what to expect, but Jimmy had a really great ghost story tonight bringing us a fun episode that we really enjoyed!

Halloween scares

Are there evil spirits at the NCIS offices? Things down in autopsy keep moving around when Jimmy isn’t there and after a very mysterious death comes up for the team he starts to wonder further about the ghost. He watches back some of the security footage to see who’s coming in and moving his stuff around and the only person he sees is himself! Is he his own ghost? He’s getting so deep into this that when he hears someone whispering his name down in the morgue that he brings in two agents to check the closets. This all gets to be too much for him and he asks for temporary leave… until McGee fesses up to being the one pranking him. Jimmy is the one that gets the last laugh though when he knew it was McGee and got in a scare of his own.

Vance

Anderson Kohl is one of the victims and Torres knows him, saying that they went to school together and although Anderson flunked out Torres says that he was a super star – just that he had a problem with authority (sound like anyone else we know?). So much so that when Bishop and Torres check out his multi-million dollar condo they find tons of cash, and fake passports. What was this guy into? With over 20 alias’ they call in to see if this guy is undercover but he’s no where – instead they figure out that he was a hit-man!

Here’s the real kicker if you’ve been wondering who has been tracking Vance. Remember a few episodes ago Vance met and went out with a woman at physical therapy? Afterwards she spoke to a man and clearly they were surveying Vance. Tonight, that man (Wesley Clark) showed up to help on this case and revealed that he is CIA (which has been a theory by many the past few weeks). So what does Clark actually want? He’s asking a lot of questions about Vance and Sloane’s abduction earlier this season and Sloane calls him out on it really quickly saying that she doesn’t know what he’s trying to get out of her, but that he won’t get it from her.

Crabby Kasie

One of the things we loved about this episode was that we saw a different side to Kasie! She’s been pretty positive about things so far and we’ve seen her anxiety (something that we can relate to personally), but we’ve never seen her being cantankerous. This case tonight was so overwhelming for her that we saw her pretty much bite off Bishop’s head – her “toilet tantrum” as she called it. We love that they are taking their time to craft all of these different layers to her.

CarterMatt Verdict

Normally we don’t get so many personal stories or moments on just one episode of this show, but tonight we had a lot – pretty much something from everyone. As much as we love the cases of the week, we have a lot more fun when they add these more personal elements (including Torres calling Bishop “babe” tonight).
