The Rookie episode 3 preview: ‘The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly’

Moving into The Rookie episode 3, you may get a pretty good sense, at least format-wise, of what the ABC series is going for. Every single episode brings you a series of different complicated cases for the various cop / training officer partnerships to take on. Some impact them on a personal level, whereas others test their necessary skills. Maybe eventually we will see them evolve beyond just that similar to how we did some doctors in the early days of Grey’s Anatomy, but it is fairly clear at the moment that we aren’t there yet.

Below, The Rookie episode 3 synopsis offers up a little bit of additional information regarding what is coming up next:

After Nolan and Talia lose control of a crime scene, they begin to debate whether people are fundamentally good or bad and what that means for a police officer. Meanwhile, Lucy is concerned Tim is enabling his wife’s destructive behavior and not taking care of himself.

The storyline with Tim is perhaps one of the ones you should be the most excited about entering this episode, largely due to the fact that he wasn’t around all that much tonight and we didn’t see most of his highly-combustible behavior. We do imagine that most of that is going to be back with a bang next week, both good and for bad. The good news is that he is rather great at training people to be good cops — or at least his definition of good cops. He makes them go to their limits. The problem at times is that he sometimes pushes them too far and beyond that, his history with his wife and all of her troubles can be a blindspot for him out in the field.
