Magnum PI, God Friended Me, The Neighborhood get full-season orders
Today, CBS confirmed that they are picking up all three shows for a full season, though the definition of “full season” does vary depending on which show that you are talking about here. When it comes to Magnum PI and God Friended Me, for example, TVLine confirms that you are going to get a chance to see twenty episodes for Magnum PI and God Friended Me. Meanwhile, The Neighborhood ended up getting 22, the typical order for most scripted shows on network television.
So why are the orders for Magnum PI and God Friended me a little bit shorter than the other one? It’s really so simple as the fact that these two shows may be ending in time in order to make way for some other shows. If CBS wants to premiere new seasons of Elementary and Instinct, for example before May, giving these shows 20 episodes allow for this sort of thing to happen. Meanwhile, with The Neighborhood it’s probably not going to be replaced with anything else, especially since it premiered a week later than most other fall series in the first place.
Ultimately, the big message that we’re trying to get across here is rather simple: Don’t worry too much about anything at the moment. The future of these shows is going to depend entirely on the ratings for these shows the rest of the next several months; there’s a good chance that all of them will be renewed. It really all depends if the viewership stays fairly solid moving forward.
