Magnum PI episode 5 preview: The story within ‘Sudden Death’

Magnum PIFollowing what we see tonight on CBS, Magnum PI episode 5 will continue to do its part in order to bring something new to the table. This time around, you’re going to get a chance to see a prominent guest star in Cyndi Lauper for the first time, and then also a spotlight episode for TC. He’s one of the main characters, but it also still feels like he is someone we haven’t had a chance to learn all that much about over time. Hopefully, this episode could be a great opportunity to start to unravel him a little bit more as a person.

Below, CBS has the Magnum PI episode 5 synopsis with a little bit more information surrounding what’s coming up:

“Sudden Death” – TC asks Magnum to take on a case to help acquit the father of one of his young football players who is accused of murder, on MAGNUM P.I., Monday, Oct. 22 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Cyndi Lauper guest stars as Vanessa Nero, a lawyer with questionable ethics.

Obviously for TC, this case is personal. He looks after some of his players and also knows some of their families to go along with that. He may believe strongly that this person is innocent and with that in mind, he’ll fight for them.

As for Lauper’s character, we’ve said this before but we like the idea of her being around in the long-term as a great recurring character who can make future appearances depending on the circumstance. She feels almost like Leo Getz on Lethal Weapon or, of course, Saul Goodman from Better Call Saul / Breaking Bad. There’s a lot of fun that could be had with this sort of role, even if she may be involved in some serious subject matter. Yet, you gotta have a little bit of fun somewhere, right?
