Shameless season 9 episode 7 preview: How does Fiona recover?
Entering this episode, it was clear that her life was at a pretty low point. Her relationship with Ford was, as it turns out, a lie — he had a family and a world that he never really bothered telling her about. To make matters worse, most of her business career was starting to fall apart. She is going to be needing a little bit of love and support from those closest to her, and hopefully, she’s going to find it over the course of this hour.

Debbie finds Fiona at a low point and helps her pick up the pieces as Fiona continues to face pressure from Max Whitford on her investment hubris. Tami stumbles back into Lip’s life. Frank enjoys the honeymoon period of his relationship with Ingrid, but reality interferes soon enough. Kev and V disagree about the future of their family.
It’s hard to admittedly focus too much on this particular episode of Shameless knowing full well that we’re going to be seeing no more Ian Gallagher on the show — even if he seemed to have a pretty satisfying conclusion to his arc with Mickey showing up behind bars. We can imagine the two of them being reasonably happy, or at least as happy as two people can be behind bars. Maybe they’ll have a chance at something more on the other side of this, but for now, the show must go on and we have to focus on just about everything else.
