The Flash season 5, Black Lightning season 2 premiere ratings down; NCIS steady
The latest example of this comes now via The Flash season 5, as the season premiere posted a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic — this is down over 20% from what the show posted last year. To go along with that, Black Lighting only posted a 0.4 — down almost 50% from its series premiere earlier this year. While we don’t think that The CW is overly depressed with these figures, it’s still notable. Remember that they are still very much aware that they can generate more viewership in online streams and DVR viewership; as a matter of fact, they’re very much reliant on that at this point in the TV landscape.

Meanwhile, elsewhere last night FBI dropped down to a 1.0 rating — it continues to do well in total viewers, but we do wonder if there’s a situation coming in which CBS could swap out the show and NCIS: New Orleans, giving the latter the earlier timeslot where it may perform a little bit better in the demo. NCIS, for those curious, was extremely steady with a 1.4 rating in the demo. Out of everything that is out there at the moment, it’s one of the most-consistent performers week after week this fall. (Yea, we know that we’re only three episodes in.)
One other thing worth noting here is that Lethal Weapon last week dropped to a 0.7 rating, which may put this show, which already has an uncertain future with Damon Wayans’ potential exit, in even more danger than ever before.
