Shadowhunters star Katherine McNamara surprises fans at New York Comic-Con
Late last night, we wrote a little bit about some of the various activities that were going on outside of New York Comic-Con, including new swag as well as a new video advertisement for the #SaveShadowhunters movement. We hinted last night that there could be a special appearance from Katherine McNamara at the convention today, and that has turned out to be very much the case.

Throughout the day, McNamara has made a number of appearances around the convention, whether it be meeting fans, having some conversations about both Shadowhunters and Arrow (where she will be appearing next), or greeting people from within the People’s Choice Awards food truck on location. Shadowhunters has been nominated for many awards this year, with Katherine herself being the recipient of a nod. This is a good way to campaign, but beyond that, it’s an excellent way to reach out to fans. Katherine is acutely aware of everything that has been done in order to get the series more episodes beyond the remaining ones for season 3, and she wants to do her part to give back.
Remember that if you are actively fighting to Save Shadowhunters, the best thing to do is continue to fight for some People’s Choice Awards wins and also watch the series live in the new year. Beyond just that, continue to do everything that you can in order to encourage other people to do the same. Even if nothing else happens with the show beyond the upcoming twelve episodes, it is easy to celebrate a job well done.
For Katherine McNamara, it’s easy to just celebrate everything that she is doing for fans — even without an official NYCC panel, the series is still making its presence felt.
