Good Trouble spoilers: Beau Mirchoff returning (officially) as Jamie
In a post on Twitter, the show’s official account confirmed that the Awkward alum Mirchoff will be appearing in at least one episode of the Freeform spin-off as Jamie, who you first saw during the series finale for The Fosters earlier this year. He’s certainly got his own experience in the legal field and serves as a very interesting counterpoint to anything and everything when it comes to Callie’s own legal journey.
Is he a love interest for Maia Mitchell’s character? In some ways, the groundwork has certainly been laid for that, but there is also no guarantee that this is something that we’re going to have. Mirchoff has another gig elsewhere, and that could limit the amount of time that he is able to spend here. The writers have to make the most of however much they have them, but the same could be said for anyone from The Fosters world. At the moment, Mitchell and Cierra Ramirez (Mariana) are the only original cast members who are series regulars here; this is a reinvention of the original story, one that continues the pushes the lives of these characters forward in Los Angeles. They will be attempting to build up their future and figure out precisely what is there for them and what isn’t.
Will there be successes? Sure, and for Callie, maybe Jamie helps with that; granted, there’s still a chance that he could be on the other side of conflicts for her given his profession.
Good Trouble, unfortunately, still is not coming on the air for a while. At the moment, this series is slated to premiere starting in early 2019. We anticipate some more news, including more teasers, coming up in the immediate future.
