The Big Bang Theory season 12 episode 4: Meet older version of Young Sheldon’s Tam!

Big Bang Theory season 12 episode 4

For those of you who have been hoping to see parts of Young Sheldon creep their way into The Big Bang Theory in its final season, this news may be right up your alley!

The October 11 episode of the CBS sitcom, entitled “The Tam Turbulence,” marks the first time in which you’re going to see the older version of this character. Sheldon’s childhood friend is played in the prequel by Ryan Phuong, and one of the fun creative challenges we imagine the writers had with this story is knowing that they were introducing effectively a character who was a part of Sheldon’s past. Yet, at the same time, they had to also explain why Jim Parsons’ character never brought him up. Tam probably didn’t exist in the minds of the writers before Young Sheldon and with that, they had no reason to bring him up. This episode is an opportunity to explore this a little bit more and, beyond that, this episode is also going to mark a chance to see Jerry O’Connell as George Cooper for at least one more time. Whether or not he turns up beyond this is definitely something that still remains to be seen.
