Wynonna Earp season 4 premiere date hopes for Syfy series
Let’s kick things off here with a reminder that there will, in fact, be a season 4 over on the network. That news was confirmed earlier this summer by the network, and really early on during its run, as well. We were actually surprised in a pleasant way that the news came so soon, given that Syfy tends to be a network that is rather-picky with its renewals.
Ultimately, though, we think that a show like Wynonna Earp is about more than just ratings. Syfy likely appreciates the demographics that it reaches (different than some of their other shows) and also the social-media clout that it has. It routinely trends during new episodes and has a significant presence in fan polls. Basically, if they ever canceled it, there would be revolts. We don’t get the sense that they really want to be in that position.
As for what the Wynonna Earp season 4 premiere date will actually be, our feeling at the moment is that it’s going to be either in late June or early July next year. Summer is the window that this series has excelled in, and we don’t really think that there is going to be all that much urgency in trying to move it. Personally, what’s somewhat remarkable about the show’s success to date is that it has figured out a way to find some success here in a timeslot (Friday nights in the summer) that on paper is a kiss of death. It’s really hard for anything to succeed here but somehow, this is a show that has found a way to keep chugging along. Our hope is that there will be a few more seasons to come and we’re not all that close to the end. We know that some series on this network don’t have a long shelf life but hopefully, this ends up bucking the trend.
Our anticipation, at least for now, is that the Wynonna Earp season 4 premiere date will be officially confirmed when we roll around to the spring.
