SWAT season 2 episode 2 preview: SWAT, Jim Street team up again

SWAT

What lies ahead on SWAT season 2 episode 2 following the premiere episode on CBS tonight? Let’s just say that a reunion is in order.

Basically, we’re going to have a chance to see over the course of “Gasoline Drum” Jim Street reunite with some of his former SWAT members in order to take on a pretty important case. This is the sort of thing that makes you wonder whether or not he will eventually be a part of the team again … even though we’re not altogether sure it will happen in the immediate future. The writers have a pretty fine line to walk when it comes to this series. After all, they have to figure out a way to make it that Street’s exit means something in the event that they eventually bring him back. It’s a delicate balancing act for the entire writing team.

For a few more details as to what the story is going to be beyond Street, the SWAT season 2 episode 2 synopsis offers up a little bit more news regarding what lies ahead:

“Gasoline Drum” – The SWAT team works together with their former member Jim Street to find a woman and her son who are running from an international drug cartel. Also, Hondo makes a distressing discovery about his incarcerated friend’s teen son, and Luca mulls over a government program that allows officers to buy homes in the at-risk neighborhoods they police, on S.W.A.T., Thursday, Oct. 4 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Does this episode sound like a worthy way to keep accelerating the drama this season? For now, we’re pretty optimistic. After all, this is the sort of show where there are going to be a pretty-constant amount of twists … let alone a lot of action to go with them.
