New Amsterdam episode 2 preview: What’s next for Ryan Eggold, cast?

Want to know what lies ahead on New Amsterdam episode 2? Well, our early expectation is that it will be an extension of the premiere. You know some of the characters a little bit better, both in terms of what they bring to the table and also what they struggle with.

When it comes to Max, his struggle is pretty clear: He has cancer. That’s not the sort of thing you can walk back or forget about. It sticks with you, and that is something that he is going to have to navigate through most of the season. It’s going to be up to some of the other physicians who either know or find out (right now, it’s mostly Dr. Sharpe) to help figure out how he can navigate it.
