We’ve talked a good bit about the Outlander season 4 premiere date here in America — heck, we’ve even discussed in Canada!
Yet, for this article we’re focusing here on Australia and what has been a rather interesting story regarding the premiere date there. Originally, the announcement was that the series was going to premiere in the country on November 6, a pretty substantial period of time after it first came on the air in America.
However, things have now changed! After a fan outcry bemoaning the fact that they would have to wait for more of the series, Foxtel network showcase in Australia confirmed that the show is now coming on the air there on November 5 at 3:00 p.m. local time — basically, at the same time that it is premiering in America, when you factor in the major time difference. That’s an exciting development and it means that fans of the show are actually going to be able to check out the series at the same time as their American counterpart.
What this ultimately shows us is the power of fandom to ensure that people all over the world get a chance to check out Outlander whenever they want to do so. Are we still sympathetic to Australians who are working during the day and aren’t able to see it live? Sure, and we hope that they replay it in primetime for that very reason. After all, not everyone has a mechanism for recording television and not everyone likes to watch television at their computer. (It’s funny; we used to hate the idea of this and now we watch almost everything while sitting at the computer.)
Outlander season 4 will be premiering on Starz in America on Sunday, November 4 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. for more coverage on the recent People’s Choice Awards nomination, be sure to visit the link here.
