Can you believe that Hawaii Five-0 as a franchise is now more than fifty years old? Late last week, the original series celebrated its fifty-year anniversary!
Just think for a moment about how many shows out there actually manage to have pop-culture relevance for fifty years. While there was a substantial break in between the original show and the remake, you can say the same thing about Doctor Who. Both are hugely successful franchises that have devoted audiences and have, in the end, withstood the test of time. They were able to reinvent themselves for new generations while also still finding a way to honor the original show.

With the anniversary in mind, the new clip below via CBS showcases many different Hawaii Five-0 actors giving the show congratulations. They recognize the honor that comes with getting to be a part of this universe, and there’s also a chance here to still tell many more years’ worth of story. The premiere episode on Friday is even more special given that we are talking here about a remake-of-sorts to “Cocoon,” the original pilot episode of Hawaii Five-0 that first aired many years ago. This entire premiere will celebrate that episode, while also still presenting some new twists and turns that help the show to stand out on its own two feet.
One of the best things about Hawaii Five-0 is that there is always going to be some life to it, even when it is not actually on the air. We know that this current iteration will end eventually, even if we do not like to think of that happening. Regardless of whenever that happens, though, we do still know that there will be opportunities to revisit the property and have a little bit more fun down the line.
