Hawaii Five-0 season 9: ‘Cocoon’ promo teases Wo Fat’s return

Cocoon

CBS has just revealed a new Hawaii Five-0 season 9 promo (which we have for you below), and this one reveals so much more about the story of “Cocoon.”

First and foremost, you get a clue that there could be a mole within the CIA, something that could have Steve McGarrett and the rest of the Task Force on edge about as they gear up for one of the creepier stories that they’ve taken on. In order to uncover the truth about a mystery, McGarrett is going to have to dive into a sensory-deprivation tank, something that has already been shown to have an impact on the mind of some agents. Everything from the outfit to the room itself for this episode is eerie, and it’s clear to us that the writers have done a pretty excellent job of recreating the classic episode of the series that serves as the basis of the premiere.

The one thing that makes “Cocoon” even creepier comes in the closing seconds of the promo, as you get a brief glimpse of Steve’s longtime (and dead!) nemesis Wo Fat. How is he standing there? Well, he may not be, since this could very well be the result of the tank playing tricks on Steve’s mind. Yet, we do have to remember that the danger is still real since for Steve, he is seeing one of the most dangerous people out there. The mind is a very powerful thing when faced with something like this.

Whether you like the original series or this new version on CBS, either way there is a great deal to like about this promo. Let’s just hope that the episode itself can build off of all of this hype and deliver an end result that is nothing short of fantastic.
