Wynonna Earp season 3 episode 10 review: The cost of stopping Bulshar

Wynonna Earp

Suffice it to say, the stakes were pretty high on Wynonna Earp season 3 episode 10, in between the arrival of Anna Silk and some of the important things that she had to say.

Silk’s Kevin, over the course of the night, proved to be rather valuable as she helped some of the characters piece together a number of very important things, with one of the biggest ones being that if our heroes want to stop Bulshar, it’s going to take the power of an angel, or at least a half-angel in Waverly Earp, sporting a certain ring. As it turns out, Bulshar’s ring is an angelic one rather than a demonic one, and she can use it to keep him from getting to the Garden of Eden and destroying the world as we know it.

What’s the problem? Well, it just so turns out that if Waverly stops him, she has to make a rather enormous sacrifice at the same time: Herself. She’s basically forced to give up her own life, and that’s a sacrifice that Wynonna is not willing to make. They still have a choice to make here, and that’s just scratching the surface of some of the insanity that we saw them have to take on in this episode.

Take, for example, Doc killing the other Wynonna love interest in Charlie as he continues his own vampire descent into darkness. Haught caught him in the act and because of that, doesn’t ever want to see him again. Charlie’s dead, and this was a hell of a tough episode for Nicole in general given the other problem she had to take on: The teenage Fire Witch that took possession of her body at one point. This had to be a really fun episode for Katherine Barrell to play, largely since it allowed her a chance to really play up some crazy angles and play a character who was certainly different than one of Purgatory’s most-beloved protectors of law and order.

CarterMatt Verdict

There was a lot of heartbreaking stuff in Wynonna Earp season 3 episode 10, but we think that what’s going to probably stick with us the most at the moment is seeing some of the terrible stuff that we did when it comes to Wynonna and Waverly. Can they really find a way to save the entire world before it’s too late, and before Waverly has to give her life? We’re going to be finding out fairly soon, but in the process of that hearts could be broken and jaws could be placed squarely on the floor. This was another episode that threw a lot at you in a short period of time, and we really just wish it was longer.
